When you think of finger painting, you likely imagine a kindergarten classroom filled with 5-year-olds mindlessly smudging colors everywhere except their canvas. It’s messy. It’s chaotic.
There is some special about using your hands to paint, kids know this. It’s a different experience as there is nothing between the artist and their art. Creative energy must have an easier time traveling from artist to art in this scenario.
Finger painting is a classic form of meditative “play” therapy. Brushes are intimidating, but fingertips we’re born with and they allow us to feel the paint.
You really can let your imagination go wild!
Take a day off and get your hands dirty!
Leave the brushes behind! Get messy too!
